This bridge plan can be stopped by stopping the route's approval.

A Public Hearing and VOTE on the Lavon Lake Bridge Route

* Commissioner, by voting against this route you will prove that you are NOT a pawn of Collin County Engineering or the developers and special interest groups that their actions seem to favor. Please, stand with your constituents, and do NOT approve this route.

* Do not approve this bridge route. It is clearly drawn to service the southeastern Collin County transit hub, and BOTH are extravagant, damaging plans that citizens want stopped.

* An NCTCOG traffic congestion study shows that by completing more cost effective roadways (as Hwy 380 and Hwy 78) instead of bridges, traffic gets no worse from 2009-2030. I see NO reason to approve any route for this extravagant and unnecessary bridge. Vote NO!

* Do not approve this route for an estimated $470 million dollar bridge the lake area residents do not even want! This extreme cost is 10 to 15 times more than similar capacity non-bridge roadways. Approval of this route is NOT fiscally responsible planning.

* This route requires two long bridges which both cross diagonally over deep water, yet Collin County Engineering and HNTB engineering deem it the most "optimal." Citizens are not persuaded by engineering's vague arguments supporting this choice. The fact that they chose this irrational route makes voters wonder, "What is the true, behind the scenes, motivation?" Do NOT approve this route.

* This route represents a pointless and unwanted $470 million dollar burden on the transportation plan. It also promises to be an equally heavy burden on any politician who decides to back it. I ask that you please stand by your constituents. Do NOT approve this route.

Please tell your friends, co-workers, and relatives
to send an email to the Commissioners!
