Why We Oppose a Bridge Over
Lake Lavon
Engineering's Vision for Southeast Collin County Does Not Match the
Citizen's Needs or Wants.
Southeast
Collin County Need Not Be A Dumping Ground:
Mr. Hoagland
sees no problems with inflicting this bridge route and threat of a
hub upon the citizen as long as it stands to increase the bottom
line, but the viability and economic benefit of the hub is not
a sure thing. The DFW area already has a failing hub.
The intermodal hub will change the entire feel
and purpose of all of southeast Collin County. It is a drastic
form of land use. This is not the only type of industry that
could be promoted. Growth can enhance the area's appeal rather
than inflict this kind of damage.
Citizens
Are In Limbo Yet We Do NOT Seem to Matter:
As long as there is a threat of a bridge or a
hub, the citizens are left with uncertain futures.
Our property values drop like a rock.
Mr. Hoagland and Engineering have both stated
that these lines and routes once set, may not actually remain in the
same position the next time the review them, so none of the area's
citizens can rest easy.
The hub location equally leaves citizens in limbo.
Collin County says that these projects are good and are needed to
plan for growth, but
these plans are actually a deterrent.
